Making a portfolio (Practise)

Using In Design we practised making portfolios for our project. We practised different ways we could set them out using the tools on In Design to make our boxes for our photographs all the same size and have the same amount of space in between them.
This is one of the pages I made. They are not the images for the business items because I have not yet photographed them. These are images I've taken in the past.

Business Card

I created a business card using InDesign. I chose a range of different photography to put into it so it shows I don't just specialise in one kind e.g. portraiture.

Evaluation

In this project I have created a portfolio and a business card for my photography. I included different styles, like portraiture, architecture, product and nature to show that I specialize in different styles and don't just enjoy to photograph.

Reflecting back on the first piece of work I did for this assignment, I think I have improved a lot. I started off just placing my photographs in InDesign and not really thinking about the layout. But as I created more pages they gradually got better and this made me improve the pages I weren't happy with.

I also made a business card for this assignment. Looking back at it I think I could do it better, so I will go back to the business card to create one again but differently. I want to make it look more professional and create it a bit differently than just a rectangle or a square. I would like to create one in the theme of photography, like in the shape of a camera or a camera lens.

Overall I have enjoyed this assignment because it's something I haven't done before. I haven't made a business card or a portfolio previously so learning this will help me in the future.
